Goldberg Proud Of Top AEW Star

Goldberg

Goldberg is proud of a big-name AEW star.

Throughout his career and beyond, Goldberg has been extremely outspoken and proud of his Jewish faith. As he climbed to the top of the wrestling industry, the former World Champion felt it was important to provide a different kind of role model to Jewish children.

AEW’s MJF has also taken a similar stance, often referencing the anti-semitic abuse he received growing up on television.

During a new interview with Chris Van Vliet, the WWE Hall of Famer said he was proud to see MJF become a huge star on his own terms.

“I’m proud that he has treated his career as such. Very much so, because it’s not the normal path and you’re going to get resistance.”

Looking back on his own career, Goldberg reiterated that being able to push back against stereotypes and be a role model is what he’s most proud of.

“That was a huge dream of mine, and mission of mine to break that stereotype. Of all my accomplishments, that’s the biggest one that I’ve ever been bestowed and given is the fact that I made little Jewish kids lives a little bit easier, in that I gave them the ability to understand that they didn’t have to follow that stereotypical path of just being someone who’s … to themselves, and understated, and weak, and frail. Bulls**t, not me, not happening.”

Goldberg stated back in 2021 that he’d been terrified ahead of his first trip to Saudi Arabia with WWE, because of his Jewish faith.

Goldberg Won’t Be Joining AEW

Although he’s happy to see MJF find success, Goldberg won’t be heading to AEW anytime soon after dismissing Tony Khan as a “male Dixie Carter.”

The veteran went on to explain during his conversation with Van Vliet that although he’d previously held talks with AEW, a deal was never close. He added that he felt something might have been possible while Sting was with the company, but he was wary of getting in the way of his farewell run.
