Goldberg Linked With Major WWE Event

Goldberg Opens Up About Battling Injuries During WWE Comeback

Goldberg is working towards one more match.

Back in November, Goldberg announced he’ll be returning to the ring one more time in 2025.

The comments came after the former WCW star got into a verbal confrontation with Gunther during Bad Blood. The World Heavyweight Champion made several disparaging remarks about the veteran but the pair were just about kept apart by security.

Despite the tease, there’s been no word on who Goldberg will face in his retirement match or when it will take place. But it seems all possibilities are on the table.

Goldberg “Definitely” Up For WWE Royal Rumble

During a new interview with Bill Apter for Sportskeeda’s Wrestlebinge, Gage Goldberg said he had no doubts his legendary father can still perform in the ring.

“I know he’s still got it, so. He’s got a little while to prepare, I know he works his butt off in the gym every day. He’s getting his cardio up, I already know that he’s gonna be ready for that fight 100%. I don’t really know if age can be a factor with my dad because he’s just got [points to head], it’s a switch in his head that when it’s flipped, it’s just game over.”

When asked whether his dad would be open to competing in the Royal Rumble, Gage said he’d “definitely do it” if given the opportunity.

“Yes sir. I mean he could for sure. He hasn’t told me that yet, but who knows? He’d definitely do it, he’d be down for anything. They tell him, ‘Okay, you’re gonna fight this guy’, he’s gonna do it 100%. Go in the Royal Rumble? He’s gonna do it.”

The WWE Hall of Famer hasn’t wrestled since losing to Roman Reigns at Elimination Chamber in Saudi Arabia in February 2022. The veteran has competed in 12 matches since returning to the company in 2016 with a shocking win over Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series.

During the same interview, Gage confirmed he’d spoken with Triple H regarding a WWE career of his own, although he remains committed to football for the time being.
