Goldberg Reveals Whether He Has Heat With WWE CCO Triple H
Goldberg had his final match at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event XL, where he faced off against Gunther in a hard-fought battle.
The match marked the end of an iconic career, and after the bell, Da Man took the mic to deliver an emotional farewell speech in front of his hometown crowd in Atlanta.
However, just moments into the speech, the broadcast cut to black, leaving fans furious and leading to widespread speculation that Chief Content Officer Triple H had something to do with it.
During an interview with The Ariel Helwani Show, Goldberg reflected on how disappointed he was that fans didn’t get to hear his full farewell message. Although he wasn’t sure whether it was WWE or the network that decided to pull the plug, the Hall of Famer expressed his final run was “a little less than desired,” noting that it didn’t seem like WWE matched his own level of investment in the send-off.
Goldberg Addresses Relationship With Triple H After Retirement Speech Cut
Given their rocky history in WWE, many believed the abrupt cut was a deliberate move by Triple H. Over the years, Goldberg and Triple H have had well-documented creative disagreements and professional tension, especially during the early 2000s.
However, despite the anticlimactic end to his on-screen career, the WWE Hall of Famer showed gratitude for the retirement match and emphasized that he holds no hard feelings toward Triple H or WWE. He made it clear that there’s no lingering animosity between them on The Ariel Helwani Show and addressed the rumors head-on.
“We speak infrequently. But we have a good relationship, I believe. It was tumultuous throughout times of our careers, to say it mildly. But, you know, it’s where it’s at, man. It’s Triple H,” he said.
