Goldberg Explains Viral Gunther Photo & Denies Intent To Disrespect

Ever since the match at Saturday Night’s Main Event, Goldberg has continued to make headlines.

It so happens that while Da Man thoroughly enjoyed being given the opportunity against The Ring General, he did have negative comments about the way his retirement speech was handled.

However, a photo also showed the WWE Hall of Famer simply smiling through a Gunther Chop. It’s well-known that the opponents are supposed to sell those chops, and not laugh in the moment.

Goldberg clarifies the reason behind his laugh

While speaking to Boston Herald, the WCW Legend clarified that he was completely soaked in the moment, and didn’t laugh to disrespect The Ring General.

Wrestling Gunther was an honor and a privilege. Don’t let my displeasure in any way, shape, or form reflect upon my opponent. I wish I could do it again. That’s how much fun it was.

I always say that I never bask in the moment – but that’s exactly what happened when I laughed after Gunther chopped me. It wasn’t because I wanted to step on his offense – it’s just that I was having fun. It was just a reactionary thing. I normally don’t have that much fun.

Currently, headlines have been buzzing with what Goldberg had to say about the global juggernaut, and some believe his son will end up paying the price for his comments.
