Goldberg Apologizes To Fans In Emotional WWE Farewell Speech
Goldberg addressed the WWE Universe after his retirement match.
Da Man returned to the squared circle tonight at Saturday Night’s Main Event for the final time to challenge Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship.
Despite a hard-fought battle, the WWE Hall of Famer fell victim to The Ring General, who secured his victory by choking out his 58-year-old opponent.
After the match, Goldberg was joined in the ring by his family and friends. Michael Cole was also there as he asked the wrestling legend to address the WWE Universe for the final time.
Goldberg Apologized For Losing In Atlanta
The WWE Hall of Famer started his speech by apologizing to the Atlanta fans for losing, pointing out that he had probably never lost in the city before.
Meanwhile, he thanked his family and friends who came from all over the world to witness his retirement match. Goldberg finally thanked the Atlanta fans for their support, stating that he could not have done it without them.
First off, I don’t think I’ve ever lost here in Atlanta. So, I do apologize going out a little sub par. I’ve got over a 100 friends and family that came in from all over the world. And I just gotta say I cannot thank you all enough. The fans in Atlanta, you’ve been absolutely wonderful. I love you. I couldn’t have done it without you.
