Giulia Is A “Pure Natural” According To WWE Legend
Giulia has a big supporter in the form of a WWE Hall of Famer.
At New Year’s Evil, Giulia beat Roxanne Perez to win the NXT Women’s Title. The win brought to an end Perez’s 276-day run with the title.
The victory for Giulia capped off an impressive rise for the star who arrived with an already impressive reputation in Japan. After making her long-awaited WWE debut in September, the star has caught the eye in matches against the likes of Chelsea Green and Kelani Jordan as well as Perez.
Speaking on his Hall of Fame podcast, NXT announcer Booker T heaped praise on Giulia, describing her as a natural.
“I just want to take a moment to talk about Giulia’s rise and what she did over in New Japan and in STARDOM, and now in NXT. You don’t make it as far as someone like Giulia has made it by slipping on a banana peel or by osmosis or anything like that.
It’s just by hard work and how much you really put in your craft. Being able to come here here, and the English [language] barrier doesn’t affect her at all inside the squared circle, that just tells me she’s a pure natural as far as going out there and performing inside the squared circle. She’s so good at what she does.
The first match she had with Roxanne Perez, I thought, ‘Man, this girl is really, really good.’ My thing is, I’m loving being a part of perhaps the greatest women’s roster in the history of all professional wrestling right now, and that’s NXT.”
Giulia In WWE Main Roster Rush
Reflecting on her recent victory over Perez, Giulia said she wants to join WWE’s main roster “as soon as possible.” During the conversation, the star opened up about the differences between wrestling in Japan compared to new role in NXT. She added that she sees the NXT Women’s Title as a ticket to have amazing matches with many different wrestlers.
Some have wondered whether Giulia’s first taste of main action could come at the Royal Rumble on February 1st. Although there’s been no official announcement, NXT stars have been appearing in the Women’s Rumble match for several years.
