Giulia Earns Shot At NXT Championship Gold

Giulia wins big at NXT Deadline.

At NXT Deadline, Oba Femi made a surprise return to action to claim victory in the Men’s Iron Survivor Challenge. Femi’s comeback came after Eddy Thorpe was ruled out of the match just as the show began.

With Thorpe out of the equation, Femi made an immediate impact. The star quickly pinned Je’Von Evans before scoring a double-pin on Wes Lee and Nathan Frazer. This left him with three points, and although Evans looked to pin Femi to even things up, the time limit elapsed before he could get it done.

Femi will now challenge for the NXT Championship at New Year’s Evil.

Elsewhere there were wins for Lola Vice, Axiom & Nathan Frazer, and Trick Williams who retained the NXT Title with a win over Ridge Holland.

In the Women’s Iron Survivor Challenge, it was Giulia who emerged victorious, seeing off Wren Sinclair, Zaria, Stephanie Vaquer, and Sol Ruca. Each participant had one point heading into the final stages before Giulia hit Zaria with a knee strike to take the lead.

Stephanie Vaquer tried to respond but time ran out.

With the victory, Giulia became the number-one contender for the NXT Women’s Title, currently held by Roxanne Perez. As things stand, the pair will meet at New Year’s Evil in a match from October 1st when Perez grabbed the win to retain the gold.
