FTR Reveal Length Of New AEW Deal & Retirement Plans
The AEW Tag Team Champions FTR have revealed how long their new deals with the company are for and say they’ll retire from the ring when their contracts are up.
The future of Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood had been the subject of much debate in recent months after Harwood revealed that the team’s contracts with AEW expired in April 2023.
FTR ended 2022 losing the AAA, ROH, and IWGP Tag Team Championships as well as losing a bout to The Gunns on AEW television. The Gunns rubbed salt in the wounds when they held a funeral for FTR on the following week’s show and it looked like it could be all she wrote for Harwood and Wheeler as part of AEW.
However, after several weeks off, the pair eventually returned to AEW at Revolution and went on to challenge The Gunns for the AEW Tag Team Championship with FTR’s AEW careers on the line. In the end, Harwood and Wheeler defeated their foes with stereo sunset flips to begin their second reign as AEW Tag Team Champions and show that they were staying put.
On the Rampage taping in Milwaukee which will air on April 14th, Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler addressed the crowd, noting that the new deal they signed with AEW is for four years and they say that they plan to retire from the ring when it runs out.
Until then, AEW fans can look forward to four more years of top guys in the company with Dax Harwood also recently pitching what would be a top match for All In at Wembley Stadium in August.
