Friend of Hulk Hogan Reveals What The Hulkster Hated About His Life
Hulk Hogan passed away on July 24, 2025, but his wrestling legacy remains unforgettable. Nearly a month after his death, his name remains on the lips of wrestling fans worldwide.
Hogan, a dominant figure throughout the 1980s and 1990s, frequently appeared in media and charity events as his career soared during wrestling’s boom. At the time, he used to deck out in his iconic red and yellow bandana and tights as a part of his wrestling gimmick. He later adopted black attire during his New World Order (NWO) era, reflecting a shift to a darker heel persona.
On the Unwraps podcast, Hogan’s friend and TV host Marc Summers recounted a personal appearance with Hogan, during which he shared an unexpected truth. Summers revealed that Hogan confessed he hated being recognized, a statement which took him by surprise, given how much the fans loved him.
“I did a personal appearance with him, and we would go to the airport together. His deal was that anytime he did a personal appearance, he had to have a yellow Rolls-Royce. We were somewhere in Michigan, and somebody found one in Chicago and had to drive it up. He says to me as we’re driving to the airport in a yellow Rolls-Royce, ‘I hate being recognized.’ He has the bandana on, and he’s wearing the tights. You don’t like being recognized?” [H/T Fightful]
Eric Bischoff Accused of “Killing” Hulk Hogan
On the Wrestling with the Devil podcast, Bubba the Love Sponge spoke about the loss of his former close friend, Hulk Hogan. During the conversation, he referenced Hulk’s daughter, Brooke Hogan, mentioning the family’s mistrust of one of Hogan’s business associates and her exclusion from his will a few years back.
Bubba identified Eric Bischoff as that business partner and accused him of overworking Hogan in his final months, which he believes hastened Hogan’s decline. He pointed to Bischoff’s involvement in their last joint venture, Real American Freestyle Wrestling, where Bischoff holds partial ownership. Bubba charged that Hogan’s image was exploited for Bischoff’s financial benefit.
“Eric Bischoff. I knew it. Okay. Eric Bischoff. I’m just telling you—Eric fing Bischoff. You didn’t even have to finish the question, and I knew who the f it was. Hell, let’s go a step further. Eric Bischoff killed Hulk Hogan. I mean, there’s a scoop for ya. Eric Bischoff ran that guy ragged. From the wrestling promotion, to having to be on FOX and Friends to having to be in Cleveland.”
“This August 30th thing was going to succeed, but you know, Eric Bischoff’s got large ownership in it. So, the better that it does, the more that he, you know… Eric doesn’t have any really money-making ventures right now. This was going to be his big pie-in-the-sky money deal, but it was going to be solely on the back of Hulk Hogan’s likeness and promotion.” [H/T to Ringside News]
