Free Agent Wants WWE Talks

Triple H WWE

A free agent wants to meet with WWE as they weigh up their next move.

Back in early January, it was reported that NJPW star Kevin Knight was now a free agent after his deal with the company expired. During this period, he and KUSHIDA dropped the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Titles and he hasn’t wrestled for the Japanese promotion since.

According to a new report from Fightful Select, Knight is looking to carefully assess his options as he prepares to enter a new chapter.

Since leaving NJPW, the star has featured for MLW and wrestled at AEW/ROH tapings — something that in itself isn’t unusual. However, AEW sources have confirmed that Knight met with Tony Khan while also discussing a new NJPW deal with Rocky Romero.

Knight has also “expressed an interest” in weighing up potential options with WWE, but there’s no word on whether the two sides have held talks.

WWE Looking To Boost Roster

Despite cutting several stars from its roster in the early weeks of 2025, WWE has made and looks set to continue to make some new additions.

At the Royal Rumble, Jordynne Grace made her official debut with the company after making several appearances throughout 2024 while under contract with TNA. Grace’s arrival was quickly followed by that of Ricky Starks who debuted in NXT just 24 hours after being released from his AEW contract.

It’s since been announced that Starks will be known as “Ricky Saints” while wrestling for the company.

Meanwhile, it’s been reported that both Malakai Black and Miro are expected to return to WWE in the coming weeks. Both stars left AEW at the same time as Ricky Starks, but the report notes that WWE’s creative department is expecting their arrival.
