Free Agent Breaks Silence On WWE Speculation

A top free agent has dropped an interesting WWE hint.

In 2024, WWE stepped up its recruitment, adding the likes of Jacob Fatu, Tonga Loa, Tama Tonga, Giulia, and Stephanie Vaquer. Meanwhile, it’s believed Hikuleo has also signed with the sports entertainment giant.

Despite the new additions, it seems the company isn’t done there.

On July 12th, Sabin and Shelley wrestled each other at a Prestige Wrestling event and appeared to say their goodbyes after the final bell. This sparked speculation the pair had signed with a major company.

Writing in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer said it’s believed the Motor City Machine Guns are WWE-bound.

“Chris Sabin & Alex Shelley are expected to be coming here, or at least that’s the talk within wrestling. Nobody has officially said anything…

It’s been known for months that they had been talking with AEW and WWE ever since their TNA contracts expired. Of late, the indications were WWE made the better offer but they were expected to be with whichever side made the best offer…

They’ve also been completely silent about it and clearly have made their decision one way or the other.

Alex Shelly Comments On WWE Links

Despite the speculation linking the pair with a move to WWE, Alex Shelley took on Alpha Zo at an event hosted by West Coast Pro Wrestling, DEADLOCK Pro-Wrestling, and Prestige Wrestling.

After the match, Shelley addressed the crowd, commenting “Spoiler Alert, I might not come back here.” The moment was captured on social media.

Shelley and Sabin have been free agents since April when their contracts with TNA expired. The pair are widely regarded as one of the best tag teams in the world having won gold in NJPW and ROH as well as TNA.
