Four More Superstars Qualify For WWE Money In The Bank

There are five men and five women that have qualified for Money in the Bank matches following WWE Smackdown on June 9th.

The next WWE Premium Live Event is the annual Money in the Bank event that’s taking place on Saturday, July 1st at the O2 Arena in London, England. Over the last several weeks, WWE has been having qualification matches to determine the men and women competing in the two Money in the Bank Ladder Matches.

On Friday’s June 9th edition of WWE Smackdown, Santos Escobar beat Mustafa Ali to earn a spot in the Money in the Bank Ladder Match. Escobar hit his finishing move, the Phantom Driver, off the middle turnbuckle to put Ali away.

The second men’s match on the show saw Butch beat Baron Corbin, who was focused on NXT Champion Carmelo Hayes & Trick Williams, who were watching from ringside. Butch is from England, so he’ll have home-field advantage at Money in the Bank.

Over on the women’s side, Bayley beat Mia Yim after a hair-pulling moment followed by the Roseplant into the mat for the win.

IYO SKY beat Shotzi in the other women’s qualifying match because Bayley got involved to help Sky win. Bayley knocked Shotzi off the top turnbuckle while Sky distracted the referee. Sky would then hit the Over the Moonsault off the top for the win.

In the graphics WWE has used for the Money in the Bank matches, there appear to be six competitors in the Men’s & Women’s MITB matches, so that means there will be one spot each for the Men’s match and the Women’s match.

All of this means the two Money in the Bank Ladder Matches look like this right now.

* Men’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match: LA Knight vs. Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Ricochet vs. Butch vs. Santos Escobar vs. at least one more wrestler.

* Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match: Bayley vs. Zelina Vega vs. Becky Lynch vs. Zoey Stark vs. IYO SKY vs. at least one more wrestler.
