Former WWE Superstar Reveals Crush’s Resentment For Doink The Clown Feud
In a recent episode of the Wrestling Life Online podcast, Bryan Clark, formerly known as Adam Bomb in WWE, shed light on his pro wrestling career in WWE and WCW. Clark, who later formed the tag team KroniK with the late Brian Adams (once known as Crush), disclosed Adams’ frustration with his infamous feud against Doink the Clown, particularly focusing on their match at WrestleMania IX in 1993.
The build up to the event had created significant anticipation among fans with this new unique character of an evil wrestling clown. Doink had storyline-injured Crush, setting the stage for what many expected to be a satisfying revenge plot. However, the match took an unexpected turn that left both the audience and Crush himself bewildered.
Clark didn’t mince words about Adams’ reaction to the match and its aftermath.
The whole thing from WrestleMania with him vs. Doink. He did not like that at all and I don’t blame him. He was not happy about it.
The match’s conclusion saw Crush outsmarted and defeated when a second Doink interfered, a twist that apparently didn’t sit well with Adams. According to Clark, Adams found the entire scenario not only disappointing but detrimental to his character’s momentum.
He thought it was silly and also I think he had a lot of steam going into that and they just sort of only used him with that angle (to put Doink over).
This frustration stemmed from the significant personal investment Adams had made in developing his Crush persona in WWE. Clark empathised with Crush’s disappointment.
I totally understand it because you invest so much in yourself and your character from A-Z, the look, the training, everything that goes with it. And then just to be sort of tossed aside that’s not always easy to deal with but it’s part of this business.
The Crush vs. Doink feud in WWE continued for several months following WrestleMania IX, but never reached a conclusive ending. The lack of a proper “blow-off” match left the storyline feeling unresolved, with fans seeing Doink as getting the upper hand with his WrestleMania victory and not facing the consequences for his rule-breaking tactics.
Which WWE Gimmick Did Bryan Clark Turn Down?
Former WWE superstar Bryan Clark also recently revealed he was offered the gimmick name of The Ringmaster but turned it down and became Adam Bomb instead.
