Former WWE Star Wrestles First Match In 71 Days, Wins World Title
WWE has had many professional wrestlers on their ranks over the years and has let many of them go as well. However, every main roster release has a 90-day non-compete clause in their contract, and violating that could mean serious consequences.
Former WWE star Andrade was released from the Stamford-based promotion in September and made a televised appearance for AEW in August, which led to WWE seeking legal action against the wrestler.
However, they recently permitted him to wrestle on WWC’s Lockout: The Closing of the Season 2025, on the same night as John Cena’s farewell match, and it proved to be a fruitful one for him.
Andrade wins World Title on first appearance since WWE’s permission
Having not wrestled since winning The Crash Heavyweight Title on October 3, 2025, Andrade competed against the WWC Universal Heaveyweight Champion, Xavant, tonight.

He went on to defeat the wrestler in just his first match in 71 days and become the new Universal Heavyweight Champion for WWC, a major wrestling promotion in Puerto Rico.
