Former WWE Star Loves To See Drew McIntyre As Champion
Drew McIntyre won the Undisputed WWE Championship by defeating Cody Rhodes on the January 9 episode of WWE SmackDown in Berlin, Germany.
The title bout was a Three Stages of Hell match. The first fall was a standard singles match, the second was Falls Count Anywhere, and the third and deciding fall was a steel cage match where the winner had to escape the cage.
McIntyre won the first fall after hitting a low blow and a Claymore Kick on Rhodes when the referee wasn’t looking. Rhodes evened the score by winning the second fall in a wild Falls Count Anywhere brawl, after delivering a Cross Rhodes on the announce desk.
In the steel cage round, when both men were battered and exhausted, Jacob Fatu made a surprise return and attacked both men inside the cage.
After initially targeting McIntyre, Fatu turned his attention to Rhodes, which gave McIntyre enough time to crawl out of the cage door and win the match to capture the Undisputed WWE Championship.
McIntyre’s ex-WWE rival, Killer Kross (fka Karrion Kross), recently went online to share his reaction to The Scottish Warrior’s title victory. The ex-WWE star was happy to see McIntyre win the championship gold.
