Former WWE Star Critical Of WrestleMania 40 Decision
Former WWE Superstar Summer Rae has become the latest big name to voice displeasure regarding WWE plans for the main event at WrestleMania 40.
Summer Rae, real name Danielle Moinet, spent six years with the company after signing with NXT in 2011. After starting off in a ring announcing role, Moinet would transition to in-ring competition and would go on to team with Sasha Banks to battle the likes of Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch in the embryonic years of their WWE careers.
A main roster debut alongside Fandango followed in 2013, with the New York native spending a further four years on WWE’s flagship shows. Moinet is arguably best remembered for her participation in reality show Total Divas and departed WWE in 2017, returning for a brief stint in January 2022.
Despite no longer being active in the ring, Moinet remains outspoken about the current in-ring product and took to social media recently to air her views on the recent return of The Rock, who looks set to battle Roman Reigns in the main event of WrestleMania 40.
‘Writing on ‘X’, the star of The Marine 4: Moving Target would reveal her disappointment at Cody Rhodes’ apparent removal from the featured bout at WWE’s top Premium Live Event:
I’m not gonna lie, I don’t like it. I want it at Wrestlemania. So maybe I’m not seeing the ‘bigger picture’ here but 😫🙄 I want that f’ing match at Mania. That’s all. The end.

WWE Live Event Reaction Showcases Fans Outcry
It isn’t just former Superstars who have publicly bemoaned the apparent shift in plans for WrestleMania.
Fans in attendance at a WWE Live Event in Knoxville, Tennessee on 3rd February roundly booed footage showing the return of The Rock, voicing their support for ‘The American Nightmare’ Cody Rhodes.
