Former WWE Champion Ready To Face NXT Stars

WWE NXT Halloween Havoc Arena

A WWE veteran is ready to go toe-to-toe with the next generation of main roster stars.

Although his career might not have always been the most conventional, and his commitment to the wrestling industry has been routinely questioned, The Miz is reveling in his role as a veteran.

In recent months a number of WWE’s established stars have clashed with the current crop of NXT Superstars looking to make a name for themselves — something it seems Miz would also be interested in.

Speaking in a new interview with TNT Sports, the former World Champion said he was ready to face anyone WWE’s third brand has to offer. Miz has a long association with NXT, having served as a ‘pro’ in season one of the show in 2010 when it launched as a reality series.

“Watch NXT, I’ll work with any of them. All of them seem to have the talent, the drive, the ability and I can’t wait for them to get to Raw or SmackDown.

I think Bron Breakker has been doing a phenomenal job down there. We’ll see what they have and what they’ve got.

Right now watching NXT, it’s like ‘oh man, these guys and girls are absolutely incredible and are doing a remarkable job, and should continue to keep working, keep pushing, and keep studying.’”

The Miz On The Verge Of WWE History

When The Miz steps into the ring with Gunther at Survivor Series, the star has the chance to equal a long-standing WWE record. Should Miz walk out with the Intercontinental Title he’ll have won the gold a total of nine times — drawing him level with Chris Jericho. Not that WWE has done anything to highlight the feat.

Seemingly to avoid mentioning AEW star Jericho on television, the veteran’s name is missing from WWE’s preview of the show.
