Former WWE Champion Jeff Hardy Shares His Hall Of Fame Inspirations

Jeff Hardy shared insights into the wrestlers who have inspired him throughout his career, highlighting four WWE Hall of Famers.

Known for his high-risk stunts and captivating in-ring performances, Jeff Hardy has been a standout in the wrestling world since the 1990s. In an interview on “Busted Open Radio,” Hardy revealed some of his earliest influences, emphasising both their wrestling styles and unique aesthetics.

At first, it was definitely Sting and The Ultimate Warrior, Sting was NWA, Ultimate Warrior was my WWE guy, and the face paint, that’s where it all came from. I never understood why they did it; I would hear them say like ‘It’s war paint’ or something, and I was like, I don’t know why they do it, I just love it, it’s so cool.

Hardy recalled a pivotal moment from his youth when he saw Sting perform live at the age of 12. He recounted the thrill of touching Sting’s shoulder as he made his entrance, an experience that left a lasting impression and inspired Hardy to incorporate face paint into his own persona. As Hardy continued to evolve in the wrestling industry, his sources of inspiration broadened.

When I saw Rey Mysterio and Psicosis, the original feud in the original ECW, that really changed my perspective on everything as well and from Japan, Jushin Thunder Liger was a huge inspiration.
