Former WWE Champion Expected To Join TNA
A former WWE World Champion is heading to TNA.
On June 13th it was reported that Jeff Hardy will be leaving AEW when his contract expires on the 14th. Hardy has been with AEW since March 2022, but his time with the company was badly affected by injury and a suspension and spell in rehab after being caught driving under the influence.
Hardy’s brother Matt left the company back in April and has since been working with TNA. Matt Hardy is due to face Moose for the TNA World Championship at Against All Odds, and it seems he might have some help.
According to a new report from Mike Johnson of PWInsider, Jeff will make his return to TNA “this weekend.” There’s no word on what the former World Champion could be doing at Against All Odds or the subsequent TV taping, but he is TNA-bound.
After being fired by WWE in 2003, Hardy headed onto the independent circuit and eventually signed with TNA Wrestling in 2004, however, he was released from his contract two years later. Following another spell with WWE, Hardy found himself back in TNA, staying with the company from 2010 until 2017.
Both of Hardy’s stints with TNA to date have been littered with controversy although he left on a high in 2017 alongside his brother Matt.
Hardy is a three-time TNA World Champion and two-time World Tag Team Champion.
WWE & TNA Enjoying Strong Relationship
Meanwhile, TNA has begun working closer than ever with WWE in recent weeks, with Knockouts Champion Jordynne Grace wrestling Roxanne Perez at NXT Battleground. Many expect the partnership to continue, and Grace is scheduled to face a mystery opponent at TNA Against All Odds. There’s been strong speculation her opponent will be from NXT.
Against All Odds is set to take place on June 14th.
