Former World Champion Attacked By Cody Rhodes On WWE SmackDown

Cody Rhodes WWE

WWE SmackDown kicked off with Drew McIntyre arriving at tonight’s show in Austin, Texas, and seemed to be heading backstage before he was stopped by the SmackDown General Manager, Nick Aldis.

Aldis reminded McIntyre that, despite his win in the Men’s WarGames match at Survivor Series this past weekend, the former WWE Champion still remains suspended and asked him to leave the venue.

McIntyre seemed to be heading back into his car when Cody Rhodes jumped him inside his vehicle and assaulted the man he was once tag team champions with, before heading down to the ring.

Cody Rhodes asks Drew McIntyre to be reinstated on WWE SmakDown

Cody Rhodes kicked off the night as he addressed the crowd at the Moody Center in his father’s hometown of Austin, Texas. He called for Nick Aldis in front of the crowd and asked him to reinstate Drew McIntyre.

Cody was angry about the unprecedented attack that McIntyre laid on him in his bus a few weeks back, given that his wife and children also use the same bus, and McIntyre’s actions put them at risk.

He vowed to crush the Scotsman like a cockroach once Aldis reinstates him to the brand. While the SmackDown General Manager hasn’t yet offered an update on the situation, it remains likely that he would listen to his top champion.
