Former Women’s Champion To Be Inducted Into WWE Hall Of Fame
A former Women’s and Divas Champion is heading to the WWE Hall of Fame.
As announced on ESPN’s Get Up, Michelle McCool will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame as part of the class of 2025.
McCool signed with WWE in 2004 after taking part in the Diva Search. Although the star quickly began appearing in backstage segments on SmackDown, she was sent to developmental territory Deep South Wrestling.
The former middle school teacher returned to the main roster in June 2006, and two years later she became the first-ever Divas Champion. She later became the first woman to hold both the Divas and Women’s Titles.
In 2009, McCool joined forces with Layla, with the pair known as LayCool, as they started a feud with Mickie James.
During one segment, LayCool attacked James and force-fed her a pig-shaped cake before pouring a bowl of punch over her head. In the aftermath, James was left sobbing in the ring.
In a recent interview, Michelle McCool admitted she “hated” the storyline, and regularly apologised to James for the insults thrown her way.
McCool retired in 2011 citing several injury problems and a desire to start a family. The star has since competed in a handful of Royal Rumble and Battle Royal matches with the last of these coming in 2023.
The star married WWE legend The Undertaker in 2010 and the couple have two children.
Ex-WWE Stars Sign Legends Deals
On February 13 it was reported that Demolition had signed new WWE Legends contracts.
Many believe the new agreements are a precursor to a Hall of Fame induction later in 2025. The pair were invited to attend the ceremony during WrestleMania 40 weekend but were unable to attend due to other commitments.
Triple H is the only other name announced for the class of 2025.
