Former TNA Champions Return With New Deals

A former championship tag team is back in TNA Wrestling after making a surprising return at Against All Odds.

There was a return of former WWE and Knockouts Tag Team Champions at TNA’s Against All Odds PLE in Tempe, Arizona.

On the Countdown to Against All Odds show, The Elegance Brand consisting of Ash, Heather and M by Elegance defeated Xia Brookside, Myla Grace and Harley Hudson in a six-woman tag team match.

After the match, The IInspiration’s Jessie McKay and Cassie Lee made their surprise return to TNA Wrestling. They made the belt motion with their hands to let The Elegance Brand know that Jessie and Cassie were coming for the Knockouts Tag Team Titles.

The IInspiration are the Australian best friend team that is best known from their WWE run as The IIconics tag team from 2015 until their release in 2021.

As The IIconics, they were former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions. They were eventually split as a team, but their release took place shortly after.

Following their WWE run, they joined TNA Wrestling as The IInspiration. They won the Knockouts Tag Team Titles in October 2021 and held the titles for 133 days. Their first run in TNA lasted about six months.

Since they’ve been away from TNA, Cassie has given birth to two sons with her WWE husband Shawn Spears. The couple met during her WWE days as Peyton Royce. Jessie McKay, who is married to a man not in pro wrestling, also gave birth to a son in December 2023.

What Kind Of Deals Did The IInspiration Get With TNA Wrestling?

Fightful Select reports that the deal to bring back The IInspiration was done in the last few weeks. McKay and Lee are now under contract to TNA. A source informed Fightful that the deals are under one year in length, with an option to extend the agreement if all parties are satisfied.

As noted above, the first run that The IInspiration had in the company lasted for about six months.

It was added by Fightful that the regime changes in the last few years contributed to The IInspiration’s decision to return to the company. TNA has been looking for more tag teams to help the Knockouts division, according to the report.

TNA has also announced that The IInspiration will be in action this coming Thursday on TNA Impact Wrestling. They will tape that show on Saturday, June 7th in Tempe.
