Former TNA World Champion Working Without A Contract
The truth about one TNA star’s current contract situation has been revealed.
It emerged in the spring that Rich Swann’s contract with TNA had expired, and the star had apparently left the company. Swann was suspended by TNA in August 2024 following an arrest, which led to him entering rehab for substance abuse issues.
Swann was arrested on June 8th 2024, in Altamonte Springs, Florida. The star was subsequently charged with disorderly public intoxication and causing a disturbance.
Police were initially called when Swann “forcibly attempted” to enter an apartment at around 9:50 pm. In the report filed by Zane Hoskins of the Altamonte Springs Police Department, the resident who lives in the apartment said they were alerted to someone trying to get in by their son.
Rich Swann Not Under TNA Contract
This was not Swann’s first brush with the law, as he was arrested and charged with the same offence in September 2022 after an incident at his apartment complex. The court ordered him to pay $351.49 related to that charge.
In December 2017, Swann was arrested and charged with false imprisonment, a felony, as well as simple domestic battery, which is a misdemeanor. According to court records, the charges were later dropped due to insufficient evidence.
Despite leaving TNA in early 2025, Rich Swann has now returned to the company as part of the First Class team with AJ Francis.
Fightful Select has now reported that, unlike many TNA stars who are currently under short-term deals with the promotion, it seems that Swann is not under any deal at all. The former TNA World Champion is currently on a per appearance basis with the company. It is noted in the report that this is the same deal that a number of other talents are currently working under, meaning they could be snapped up elsewhere.
