Former TNA Champion Makes AEW Debut
A former champion in TNA Wrestling made their surprise in-ring debut for AEW before Dynamite went on the air.
The January 22 edition of Dynamite saw Kenny Omega and Will Ospreay form a dream team for Grand Slam Australia where they will clash with Kyle Fletcher and Konosuke Takeshita. That match came about due to an almighty brawl on the show as The Don Callis Family attempted to take out two men who used to be close to Callis.
The show also saw Christopher Daniels confirm his in-ring retirement after a 32-year career. Daniels lost to Hangman Adam Page in a brutal Texas Death Match on the January 18 edition of Collision and he told Page that doctors had advised him to hang up his boots.
Crazy AEW Debut For Ex-TNA Star
Before Dynamite kicked off, however, a dark match took place that saw Serpentico pick up a rare win over former TNA star Crazzy Steve. The 40-year-old star last wrestled for TNA in April 2024 and also held the Digital Media Championship at that time.
Crazzy Steve is best known for his run that saw him team up with Abyss to win the TNA Tag Team Title as The Decay. The Decay also included Rosemary and she was part of the revamped group with Steve between 2021 and 2023 which also included Havok and Black Taurus. Black Taurus is now known as AEW’s Beast Mortos.
