Former Tag Team Champions Announced For WWE Hall Of Fame

The newest members of the WWE Hall of Fame have been revealed.

It’s officially been announced that The Natural Disasters will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.

Fred Ottman (Typhoon) and John Tenta (Earthquake) both enjoyed lengthy careers in the ring, but it was their run as the Natural Disasters in the early 1990s that put them on the map.

During a recent interview, Ottman said he couldn’t believe the news when he got the call from WWE.

“It is an honor. It was crazy when I got that phone call. I couldn’t believe it. I was like, ‘Wow, what an incredible thing.’ Because I always say there are so many guys that are so worthy to be in there that aren’t yet. And for this to happen, it was just amazing.”

The Natural Disasters Won WWE Gold

Ottman and Tenta began teaming together in 1991 and went on to win the World Tag Team Titles during their relatively short run as a duo.

After the team split, Ottman headed to WCW and infamously debuted as The Shockmaster in August 1993. He made a brief return to WWE in 1994 but spent the remainder of his in-ring career on the independent scene.

Tenta also found his way to WCW via a spell in Japan, signing with the company in late 1993, where he was known as The Avalanche and later The Shark.

The former Tag Team Champion re-debuted in WWE in May 1998 as part of The Oddities under the name Golga, but he left the company again in the early months of 1999.

John Tenta sadly passed away on June 7, 2006, after being diagnosed with bladder cancer.

Ottman and Tenta will take their place alongside Triple H, Michelle McCool, and Lex Luger in the Class of 2025.
