Former Star Open To WWE Return Despite Recent Criticism

A former WWE Superstar could yet return to the company.

Carmella has been out of the ring for two years following the birth of her first child in 2023.

The star developed a medical condition during the delivery of her son and as a result, is still no closer to making a return to the ring. The former SmackDown Women’s Champion’s contract has since expired, and she’s confirmed her medical status means she might not be cleared to wrestle for some time.

During an interview following her official departure from the company, Carmella described her WWE release as a “sh*tty” way to end a 12-year career with the promotion. She also suggested she felt she was punished for having a baby, and the company subsequently ghosted her when she tried to return to work.

However, a return isn’t impossible.

Carmella Says WWE Is Still Home

Despite that criticism, Carmella has admitted she still feels loyal to the company and hopes that if she ever wrestles again it will be in a WWE ring.

In a new interview with Joseph Staszewski of the New York Post, the star opened up about a potential comeback, and why the sports entertainment giant still feels like home.

“I’m not a ‘never say never’ person. To me, I do feel such loyalty to WWE. I loved my time working there. If I ever went back, I would hope it would be for WWE. I would want to go back as Carmella and moonwalk my way out there and be in a WWE ring. I do feel like that would be my home, but I’m not going to say never. Who knows what the future holds,”

Carmella hasn’t wrestled since taking part in a live event on March 12, 2023, in the lead-up to WrestleMania 39.
