Former Head Writer Blasts WWE For Repetitive CM Punk Booking

CM Punk upset

CM Punk was left devastated and furious when Seth Rollins cashed in at SummerSlam 2025 and dethroned him within five minutes of becoming the World Heavyweight Champion.

Since then, The Best in the World has targeted The Vision, but most of the time, he has found himself overpowered.

On the latest episode of WWE RAW, Punk secured a spot at Clash in Paris in a 4-Way match against Seth Rollins, LA Knight, and Jey Uso.

Vince Russo took objection to CM Punk’s booking on WWE RAW

While speaking on Sportskeeda’s Legion of RAW, the former WWE Head Writer revealed that the global juggernaut is constantly booking The Best in the World in similar angles.

The previous week, it was Roman Reigns who arrived to save CM Punk from The Vision, and this week it was LA Knight and Jey Uso. It seems that they continue to use an old formula every week.

You know it’s funny, bro, because we’ve seen the same finish now for two weeks in a row. The only difference is that last week they used Roman. This week, they used Jey Uso. Next week, we’ll get a six-man. They’re gonna go from this tag match to a six-man tag match. And Roman is gonna come back next week. The heels are gonna go off with heat, and the people are gonna sit there and cheer, ‘Yeet, yeet, yeet, yeet.’ And I’m gonna sit there and say I watched another show, and I feel like a moron. Nothing ever changes about this show, nothing.

Given that Roman Reigns is advertised for Clash in Paris, it is highly likely he will be present on next week’s RAW.
