TNA Wrestling has made an important new signing.

On January 30, TNA Wrestling announced the signing of Mustafa Ali. The former WWE Superstar originally joined the company on a short-term basis in January 2024 and quickly found success.

During this period he won the X-Division Title, holding the gold for 148 days. However, after failing to win the World Championship in a match against Nic Nemeth on August 1, he announced he was leaving the company.

Ali had previously spent seven years with WWE before being released in September 2023.

Mustafa Ali Feels TNA Wrestling Is The Right Fit

Fresh off the back of signing his new deal, Ali sat down with Jon Alba of Sports Illustrated’s The Takedown to explain his decision.

“TNA was the right fit for, me, and I was the right fit for TNA,” he said. “As you know, in wrestling in general and the industry of entertainment, sometimes it’s right place, right time, but it’s got to be for both parties,” the former X Division Champion said.

“I absolutely love what the industry is today. I love that one roster has several options, several big time options to go make big time money, and not just the wrestlers. I’m talking about medical staff, producers, people behind the scenes, even people that cover the the industry. There’s so much to do that, if you’re not successful somewhere, it’s it’s really on you.

I felt like TNA was going to provide me with a platform to creatively really expand, some of these other organizations, I don’t want to say ‘bottleneck,’ but there’s a certain process there.

The one thing that I really enjoyed about my previous stint at TNA is that if I wanted an answer, if I wanted to do something, if I needed a ‘yes’ or ‘no,’ I knew who to talk to and I would get that answer within minutes.”

While TNA is keeping hold of stars such as Ali and The Hardys, it’s been confirmed that former Knockouts Champion Jordynne Grace has signed with WWE. Despite denials from the woman herself, Grace is expected to make her debut as a WWE Superstar at the Royal Rumble on February 1.
