Former AEW World Champion Returning Soon

AEW Kenny Omega Adam Page

A former AEW World Champion is set to return to action after taking a few months off.

The last time former AEW World Champion “Hangman” Adam Page was seen on television was when he competed in a triple threat match for the AEW World Title at the Revolution PPV on March 3rd.

In that triple threat match that also included Swerve Strickland, Samoa Joe retained his AEW World Title by making Page tap out to the Coquina Clutch. After that, Page was gone and there was no explanation given as to why he was gone.

It has been reported by Fightful Select that All Elite Wrestling expects Page to make his return soon. While there’s no specific date that is known yet, it is expected within the next month and is likely by early July.

As for what his role might be in WWE moving forward, Fightful mentioned that Hangman is expected to continue in the heel role that he was in prior to his departure.

Additionally, Fightful added that Page being away from AEW wasn’t a surprise and both sides knew it was coming.

The June 19th edition of AEW Dynamite is in Fairfax, Virginia near where Page lives, but it’s not known if he will be at the show.

Could “Hangman” Adam Page Be Part Of AEW Blood & Guts Match?

On the June 12th episode of AEW Dynamite, The Young Bucks announced that there will be the annual Blood & Guts Match on July 24th in Nashville. A Blood & Guts Match is like WarGames where two teams compete inside two rings and there is a cage with a roof on it.

The Young Bucks announced that their team will consist of Kazuchika Okada, Jack Perry and The Young Bucks (Matthew & Nicholas Jackson). The brothers asked AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland if he wanted to be on their team, but Swerve was not interested in that.

Since Hangman Page has a long history as an ally of The Young Bucks, it makes a lot of sense for him to return as part of The Elite’s team for the Blood & Guts Match. However, It’s not known for sure if Hangman will be a part of that match.
