Former AEW Tag Team Wrapping Up Indie Dates Amid WWE Interest

WWE Triple H

A former AEW tag team look like they could be on the way to WWE as they begin to wrap up their time on the independent scene.

For two years, AEW and Ring of Honor felt what The Righteous was digging. Mainly used as ROH talent, the team of Vincent and Dutch seemed to have a lot of promise with their cult-like characters, but things never really took off for them on Tony Khan’s watch.

The Righteous called time with those promotions in May 2025, and now it looks like they’re signing elsewhere.

Fightful Select has reported that The Righteous have informed some promoters that they are finishing up their indie dates in the coming months. It was noted that WWE has an interest in the team and that many believe they are going to be signed by the sports entertainment giant.

WWE Abandoned Earlier Plans For The Righteous

Speaking in a video released on his YouTube channel, where he discussed his WWE contract ending at length, Karrion Kross revealed he was meant to be part of an extension of the Wyatt Sicks alongside ex-AEW stars Vincent and Dutch before the passing of Bray Wyatt:

You know the Righteous? Dutch and Vinny? Bray wanted to start with the Sicks, but he wanted to expand, and one of his ideas was to have me, Vinny and Dutch as like, an extension of the Wyatt faction, he had a totally different name for it and everything. We were gonna be on another show, like Raw.

Jason Baker needs to write a book. He was Windham’s guy, like I would hear everything second and third hand. Jason could tell you more about it, if you ever get Jason Baker in for anything, talk to him about it. The stuff that they were ready to do together, like man.
