Former AEW Champion Signs New Contract

Toni Storm and Saraya on AEW Dynamite

One AEW star will be sticking around.

Despite believing her in-ring career was over, Saraya debuted with AEW at Grand Slam 2022. The star’s WWE contract had expired four months earlier and she hadn’t wrestled since late 2017 due to a serious neck injury.

Since becoming All Elite, Saraya has returned to the ring and won the Women’s Championship at All In 2023.

However, there had been a great deal of speculation around her future, as it was reported her deal expired before the end of September. Despite the close timeline, Fightful Select has now reported that the star has signed a new one-year contract.

While AEW held an option year on her previous contract, the report notes that this is an entirely new deal.

AEW Could Lose Another Star

While Saraya will remain All Elite, at least for the time being, the company is losing confidence in its efforts to keep hold of Daniel Garcia.

It’s believed the star’s contract expires in October and he’s yet to sign an extension. According to the most recent report on his status, AEW is less confident that it had been in him signing a new deal, however, that’s far from a guarantee that he’ll leave.

It’s been an open secret that WWE has had a significant interest in Garcia for months, and the sports entertainment giant would be a likely destination should he let his current deal run out.
