Former AEW Champion Hits Back At Speculation On Future
An AEW star has given an update on their absence.
Jamie Hayter hasn’t wrestled for AEW since January 22, and she’s since disappeared from television.
While wrestlers taking a break from the ring is hardly out of the ordinary, that hasn’t prevented a wild round of rumors on social media. Many fans have pointed out that now-former AEW stars such as Rey Fenix and Ricky Starks also disappeared without explanation before eventually leaving the company.
But it seems the online chatter is well wide of the mark.
Despite the speculation, it’s been reported by Fightful Select that Hayter is currently in the UK getting her visa renewed, and this is why she’s taken UK dates in recent weeks. More importantly, she’s expected back with AEW when the process is resolved.
In a follow-up on social media, Hayter confirmed she’s getting a new visa and there are “no issues.”
I’ll save you all the cash and the concern, just getting a new visa, no big deal, no issues. Cheers!
Another Former AEW Champion’s Future Unclear
While Jamie Hayter will be staying put, it’s been confirmed that Zak Knight has left AEW. Knight, the brother of fellow All Elite star Saraya, signed with the company in early 2024 and was mainly used in Ring of Honor and in dark matches.
Knight’s departure comes after Saraya admitted she could return to WWE when her current contract expires in September. The star said she loved her time with Tony Khan’s promotion before casting doubt on her future, suggesting she might not sign a new contract.
In recent weeks, the likes of Rey Fenix, Miro, Malakai Black, Ricky Starks (Saints), and Leyla Hirsch have all left the company.
