Forgotten WWE Women’s Champion Appears On Raw

One former WWE Women’s Champion who has not competed in a proper match in the company since 2009 has been seen on Monday Night Raw.

For many the mid-2000s was a nadir for women’s wrestling in WWE with the company’s female stars labelled as “divas” and not much thought given to them in a creative or competitive sense.

One of the breakout stars of that time was Candice Michelle who was hired by the company after trying out for the inaugural Diva Search in 2004. Michelle was part of diva contests on Raw such as lingerie fashion shows before finally getting to compete in the ring in 2005 – albeit her first match was a Lingerie Pillow Fight against Christy Hemme.

Candice Michelle Appears On WWE Raw

Michelle captured the WWE Women’s Championship from Melina at Vengeance: Night of Champions in June 2007 before losing the title to Beth Phoenix four months later at No Mercy. Michelle’s last proper WWE match came in February 2009 where she lost to Phoenix again before she was released from her contract four months later.

Candice Michelle did appear on a reunion episode of Raw in 2019 where she briefly captured the WWE 24/7 Championship.

Now Michelle has been shown on Raw in Austin, Texas as she watched the show from the crowd.

Candice Michelle was not the only former WWE star featured on camera on the show as an ex-star appeared on Raw for the first time since leaving AEW.
