A WWE Superstar who has not competed on television since April was backstage at SmackDown with the expectation that they will soon return to the screen.

Bobby Roode has not been seen on WWE television since April 2022 when he appeared in the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royale prior to WrestleMania 38.

Following that Roode continued to appear on live events for the company but the last of those appearances came in June when he lost to Omos in Amarillo, Texas.

However, the former TNA World Champion could be inching closer to a return. Mike Johnson of PWInsider reported that Bobby Roode was backstage at SmackDown in Indianapolis, however, the star did not appear on the show. It was noted that this was the first TV taping Roode has been at for quite some time.

The report concludes by stating that Bobby Roode underwent a medical procedure in Birmingham, Alabama six weeks ago and was back in the same city earlier in the week.

Several stars have returned from outside the company since Triple H took over following Vince McMahon’s retirement with Bray Wyatt, Braun Strowman, Dakota Kai, Karrion Kross, and Scarlett all among those to have returned. With the change in management, it could also pave the way for Roode to become a featured competitor once again.
