A Japanese legend has returned to a WWE ring.

On July 25th, WWE returned to Japan for the first time in 2019. The live event in Osaka was the first of three in the country, with two more to follow in Tokyo on the 26th and 27th.

In the main event, Cody Rhodes retained his Undisputed WWE Title with a win over AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura, but it was a match further down the card that caught many fans’ attention. On the show, Meiko Satomura teamed with Bayley, Bianca Belair, and Jade Cargill to defeat Damage CTRL and Tiffany Stratton.

The match was especially notable as it was Satomura’s first for the company since March 2023.

The veteran began her career back in 1995 and competed in WCW, Stardom, Chikara, and several others before making her WWE debut in 2018. Satomura signed with the sports entertainment giant in 2020 working as an on-screen talent and a coach.

Meanwhile, it’s been reported thatRaquel Rodriguez is moving ever closer to a return to the ring. The former NXT Women’s Champion has endured a stop-start 2024 after being diagnosed with Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS).

Rodriguez did briefly return to action in February after taking a three-month break but she wrestled just three times before being removed from the active roster.
