Forgotten AEW Star Finally Returns After 9 Months

A long-lost AEW star has returned to television for the first time in nine months for just his second match in the company in almost two years.

The Opps captured the AEW Trios Championship at Spring BreakThru as Powerhouse Hobbs filled in for an injured HOOK to join Samoa Joe and Katsuyori Shibata. That win over the Death Riders only ignited a feud between the two sides, with Samoa Joe now set to challenge Jon Moxley for his AEW World Championship on May 14.

On the April 30 edition of Dynamite, The Opps were back in action as they took on the team of Myles Hawkins, Rhett Titus, and Nick Comoroto. The Opps won in a little over three minutes, but the match was notable for seeing the return of Comoroto to an AEW ring for the first time in 9 months.

Why Has Nick Comoroto Been Absent From AEW?

The last time Nick Comoroto competed in AEW was back in June 2024 when he lost to Daniel Garcia. Comoroto was featured more heavily as part of Ring of Honor but has missed several months of action due to undergoing hip resurfacing surgery.

Prior to the match with Garcia, Comoroto’s last outing in AEW had come in July 2023 when he lost to Miro. Nick Comoroto had been a part of The Factory stable led by QT Marshall before it quietly disbanded.
