Forgotten AEW Star Pokes Fun At Absence

Tony Khan AEW

A missing AEW star looks set to remain out of the spotlight.

Coming off the back of a critically acclaimed pay-per-view in Double or Nothing, AEW is flying high as it prepares to present Dynamite on May 28.

On the show, Mercedes Mone will come face to face with “Timeless” Toni Storm, and Owen Hart Cup winner “Hangman” Adam Page will address his future.

Meanwhile, Josh Alexander meets Brody King in an International Championship qualifier, Anna Jay & Harley Cameron take on Megan Bayne & Penelope Ford in a No DQ Match, and Mark Briscoe, Mike Bailey, & Willow Nightingale square off against Gabe Kidd, Jon Moxley, & Marina Shafir.

However, it seems one star won’t be involved. When asked whether she’d be pulling up to Dynamite, Deonna Purrazzo said that if she does, it will be during an ad break.

The former TNA star has only wrestled on AEW television three times in 2025, with her most recent outings coming in Ring of Honor.

During picture in picture, probably.

AEW Has No Creative Plans For Deonna Purrazzo

The comments come after it was reported in March that AEW had no plans for Deonna Purrazzo or her tag team partner Taya Valkyrie. However, that report did note that Purrazzo had made several pitches, but they hadn’t been used.

Purrazzo’s frustration is nothing new after claims she’d been “very vocal” to AEW management back in January about being sat on the sidelines. The star later admitted that she wanted to be used more regularly, but understood that the women’s division is incredibly strong.
