First Time Ever Match In AEW Owen Hart Cup Final

The first Owen Hart Foundation Tournament final has been decided, and it will be a first-time match for two of AEW’s biggest stars.

The winners of this year’s AEW Owen Hart Foundation Tournaments will challenge for a world championship at All In Texas in July. The finals of The Owen take place at Double Or Nothing, and now everyone knows which two female stars will be competing for the cup.

TBS Champion Mercedes Mone booked her place in the final on the Spring Breakthru edition of Dynamite when she defeated ROH Women’s World Champion Athena. On the April 23 edition of Dynamite, the other semi-final took place as Jamie Hayter faced off with Kris Statlander.

Hayter picked up the win, booking her place in the final thanks to a huge Hayter-ade to finally put Statlander away. Dynamite went off the air with Mercedes Mone staring down Jamie Hayter ahead of their first-ever match.

The first finalist in the men’s tournament was also decided at Spring Breakthru when Will Ospreay defeated Konosuke Takeshita in a classic encounter. Ospreay’s opponent in the final will be decided when Hangman Adam Page faces Kyle Fletcher. Dynamite saw Page get dropped with a huge brainbuster from The Protostar as The Don Callis Family laid out Page, Will Ospreay, and Brody King.
