Fired WWE Stars Begin Free Agency

Dolph Ziggler Emma Matt Riddle WWE

The non-compete clauses of many former WWE stars are now believed to have expired leaving them to sign elsewhere.

Mustafa Ali was the first WWE star in September 2023 to reveal he had been released and he was followed by a whole host of others.

Dolph Ziggler, Matt Riddle, and Shelton Benjamin were the biggest names let go in the first mass release of talent by the company since Vince McMahon temporarily stepped down in July 2022. WWE fired over 100 employees before these layoffs following the takeover of the company by Endeavor.

The full list of stars released by WWE in September included: Mustafa Ali, Dolph Ziggler, Shelton Benjamin, Rick Boogs, Aliyah, Elias, Riddick Moss, Top Dolla, Emma, Dabba-Kato, Dana Brooke, Mansoor, Mace, Quincy Elliott, Shanky, Yulisa Leon, Kevin Ventura-Cortez, Ikemen Jiro, Brooklyn Barlow, Bryson Montana, and Matt Riddle.

WWE Stars Cleared To Sign Elsewhere

The rumour mill is currently in overdrive regarding some of these stars’ futures. TNA is teasing one of its biggest signings ever with many people believing it could be one of the bigger names let go by WWE.

Dolph Ziggler has confirmed his first post-WWE match as he looks to continue his long wrestling career while others might well be making moves now that their ninety-day non-compete clause imposed by WWE has expired leaving them all as free agents who can sign elsewhere.
