Finn Balor Breaks Silence After Night Of Betrayal At SummerSlam
Finn Balor has broken his silence after betraying Judgment Day teammate Damian Priest at SummerSlam.
The pair have been close allies since Balor was introduced into the Judgment Day by then-leader Edge on 6th June 2022. Moments after, the newest member joined forces with his new team mates Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley to attack ‘The Rated R Superstar’ to oust him from the group.
The faction has been a focal point of WWE television ever since, with Balor and Priest lifting Tag Team Championship gold together on three occasions.
Priest would go on to become World Heavyweight Champion at WrestleMania 40 after cashing in the Money In The Bank contract won in London 10 months earlier to pin Drew McIntyre just minutes after he had defeated Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins for the prestigious title.
It all came crashing down, however, at SummerSlam on 3rd August with Balor shockingly turning on Priest during a Championship bout with much feared challenger, Gunther.
A pinfall victory looking certain for Priest after he had delivered his signature South Of Heaven chokeslam to Gunther. Balor, however, betrayed Priest by placing Gunther’s foot on the bottom rope to break the count. Soon after, Gunther locked a shocked Priest in a sleeper hold to seal his first World Heavyweight Championship.
Balor showed no remorse for his actions after taking to social media site ‘X’ the following morning to break his silence:
“I woke up in a good mood”
Finn Balor Eyes First Time Ever Bout
After his brutal betrayal of Damian Priest, it looks likely that Finn Balor will have his hands full in coming months as the now-former World Heavyweight Champion seeks revenge.
There is another opponent, however, that Balor has declared he wants to step into the squared circle to do battle with.
Despite declaring his respect for Logan Paul, the Irish star has revealed he is keen to step into the ring with the social media sensation in the future.
