Fans Left Stunned As MJF Tries To Set AEW Rival On Fire
MJF just wanted to prove his point.
Although it’s already been announced that Hangman Adam Page will face MJF at Revolution, their rivalry came close to a terrifying new flashpoint in Sacramento.
The March 5 episode of Dynamite opened with MJF ranting outside the venue, blaming Page for the beating that Christopher Daniels took a week earlier. He teased Page to come and find him, warning he’d got a bullet with his name on it.
Later in the show, he continued to taunt Hangman in an interview with Renee Paquette when Hangman burst into view in his truck, causing them to scatter. Page marched after his rival and followed him into the building, thinking he’d chased him down, but once on the stage, it was revealed the man was just a decoy.
At this, the real Maxwell Jacob Friedman jumped Page from behind. Although Hangman managed to get on top, his attack was thwarted by a low blow. Friedman then revealed a t-shirt reading “MJF Did Nothing Wrong,” and took out security as they tried to intervene, eventually flattening Page with a loaded punch with the Dynamite Diamond Ring.
With Page down, MJF grabbed a mic, commenting that fans love it when Hangman sets fire to things, so he wanted to see what it felt like.
A vengeful MJF quickly doused Page in lighter fluid and was about to set him on fire when referees and producers tackled him to the ground. The wild segment ended with the former World Champion screaming, “Let me prove my point!”
MJF Confirms Huge AEW Salary
While he seems to enjoy trying to destroy Hangman Adam Page and everything around him, MJF has made sure he’s getting well-paid for the privilege.
During a recent interview, the star said he’ll have made more than $15 million by the time his AEW contract is over, quipping that he “won the war.”
Elsewhere on Dynamite, “Timeless” Toni Storm and Mariah May almost came to blows yet again, and Wheeler Yuta walked out on Jon Moxley after a defeat to Cope.
