Fans were left irate as one TNA Bound For Glory title match ended in complete chaos and controversy.

NXT and TNA have been on a collision course in recent weeks, culminating in a big Showdown event. That show saw four matches pitting the two rosters against each other. By the end of the night, The Hardys had captured the NXT Tag Team Title, but overall, the night was tied with two wins apiece for each brand.

The battle for brand supremacy continued at Bound For Glory as Leon Slater put his TNA X Division Title on the line against NXT’s own high-flying star, Je’Von Evans.

But that match ended up being overshadowed by the crowd’s reaction to the match’s convoluted finish.

TNA Fans Turn On X Division Title Match

At Bound For Glory, Evans and Slater had the fans in the palm of their hands as they put on a high-flying clinic with neither man getting the upper hand. The twenty-minute time limit ended up expiring, making the bout a draw.

TNA Director of Authority Santino Marella then announced that there would be five more minutes added to find a winner, much to the crowd’s delight. However, they were left in a rage when NXT spoilers DarkState then interfered, attacking both men and causing the match to be ruled a no contest.

Fans were happier later in the night as they witnessed two hugely emotional moments unfold. Mike Santana captured the TNA World Championship from NXT star Trick Williams to bring that title home.

The Dudley Boyz also signalled their retirement as they handed over their boots after they battled The Hardys in One Final Table match.
