Family Of Former WWE Superstar Signs Legends Deal

Wrestling Legend Raves About WWE Superstar's

The family members of a late, great WWE superstar have signed a Legends deal with the company.

It was reported in February that the legendary WWE tag team known as Demolition had signed Legends deals with the company.

Demolition was one of the greatest tag teams in the late 1980s into the early 1990s with Ax and Smash as the original members of the group. They had three Tag Team Title reigns in WWE and during the third reign, they were joined by a younger wrestler named Crush.

For decades, Demolition was not a welcome part of the WWE family. That’s because of a legal battle with the company in 1997 over name and gimmick rights. The duo was involved in a concussion-related class-action lawsuit against WWE that started in 2016 and lasted several years.

Ax & Smash’s first tag team title reign as Demolition lasted for 478 days. It was a record for nearly 30 years until it was beaten by The New Day in 2016.

There was some hope among fans that Demolition would be properly honored in the WWE Hall of Fame in 2025, but it doesn’t appear to be likely since the Natural Disasters team of Earthquake & Typhoon will be inducted this year. Most years, WWE only chooses to induct one tag team.

Family Of Late WWE Superstar Crush Signed Legends Deal

The third member of Demolition was a powerful man named Crush, who was portrayed by Brian Adams. During his WWE career, he had multiple stints from 1989 to 1997 and then a brief run in 2001.

Adams, who passed away in 2007 at the age of 43, portrayed different characters throughout his career such as a Demolition member, a Hawaiian powerhouse, a member of the Nation of Domination, and then a part of the Disciples of Apocalypse. When he went to WCW, he was The Demon and he also became a part of a tag team known as Kronik with another powerful wrestler known as Wrath aka Bryan Clark.

Royce Adams is the son of the late, great Brian Adams (aka Crush) and he revealed on the Power & Glory with Paul Roma, Mario Mancini, and Emir podcast that the Adams’ family signed a Legends Deal with WWE to honor the legacy or Crush.

“I started seeing rumors and stuff online and all that. ‘Oh, yeah, Demolition legends Axe and Smash are on a Legends Deals.’ I’m like, that’s pretty cool. Then sure enough, I get a call. I get a call, and this guy tells me, ‘Yeah, I’m with the WWE. We’re trying to reach out to the family, the owners of Crush’s estate.’ I’m like, okay, yeah, this is Royce, his son.

I don’t even know how he managed to find me. He tells me that he looked at the obituary of Crush, found out he had kids, me included, and then he looked me up, and he told me he saw me on Facebook, and he was like, ‘Yeah, you were really easy to track down, actually.’

So anyway, yeah, he reached out to me and my mom, and we agreed to sign the posthumous contract, I guess you can call it, and yeah, so that’s how my dad is now a part of the whole legends thing with the rest of Demolition.”

During his WWE career, Adams was a Tag Team Champion with Demolition, but his long run in the company could lead to a Hall of Fame induction in the future.
