Expected WWE Signing Says Goodbye To Current Promotion
One star expected to debut with WWE has now apparently said goodbye to their current promotion after losing a championship.
WWE never stops in its hunt for more talent, holding tryouts with the company throughout the year. Earlier in 2025, WWE seemed to have placed an increased focus on signing European talent, and held other try-outs during the tour prior to WrestleMania, as well as the one mentioned in London. This has kick-started talk within the company that NXT Europe could launch before the end of 2025.
According to several reports from the time, WWE was looking to sign Zozaya, Aigle Blanc, and Mike D. Vecchio, who hail from Spain, France, and Italy, respectively.
At the UK promotion RevPro’s recent 13th anniversary show, Zozaya apparently waved goodbye to fans after his match with IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Zack Sabre Jr., and it seems now another star has also said arrivederci to the indies.
Italian Star Heading To WWE?
Mike D Vecchio lost his PROGRESS Atlas Title to Gene Munny in a three way match, which also featured Will Kroos at PROGRESS: Chapter 183 on August 25th. After the loss, Vecchio also seemed to say goodbye to the fans in London as he received a rousing ovation that signalled he was now off to explore his future with WWE.
PROGRESS Wrestling hinted that Vecchio was on his way out with a social media post that read:
In what could be his final PROGRESS match for the foreseeable future, Mike D gets a standing ovation from the fans…
