Exact Date Major TNA Star Becomes Free Agent
TNA look destined to lose one of its top stars as they’ve now revealed exactly when their contract with the promotion comes to an end.
Josh Alexander has previously revealed he asked to leave TNA in early 2024 but the company decided to exercise their option to keep him for an extra year. He will become a free agent when his current deal ends.
His former tag team partner in The North, Ethan Page, is currently part of the NXT roster in WWE although it is widely believed Tony Khan would be interested in bringing the Walking Weapon to AEW. And now it’s been revealed exactly when WWE, AEW, and anyone else in the wrestling business could make their offer to Josh Alexander.
Speaking to Chris Van Vliet, Josh Alexander confirmed the exact date his TNA deal ends:
February 15th, I’ll be a free agent. TNA announced they extended me, they put a year extension on February 14 last year. Into free agency for the first time.
Josh Alexander Already Planning Dream Matches After TNA
As far as where his future lies, Alexander admitted he’s open to all possibilities that could see him tick some matches off his bucket list:
I’m looking at NXT going, ‘Me and Ethan could tag up and face that tag team and it would be awesome.’ I’d really love to have a match with Pete Dunne or Gunther. The list goes on. You watch Dynamite, and I’ve torn it up with Will (Ospreay) and (Konosuke) Takeshita in the past. I’d love to do that on a bigger stage.
One bucket list thing I might have, a wrestler that’s still wrestling that I would love to wrestle is Edge [Adam Copeland]. He’s in AEW. Then, there’s Japan. Shingo (Takagi) is the one guy on my bucket list where ‘this is doable. I’m going to make this happen.’
Him and (Tomohiro) Ishii were neck and neck. I made the Ishii match happen. Shingo is the other one. I look at the landscape of where I can go and the talent I want to work with, everyone is stacked, roster-wise. To be able to tell stories with these people, the options are open.
Josh Alexander has confirmed he’ll no longer be taking indie bookings only adding to the speculation that he’ll be signing with a major company in the not-too-distant future.
