Ex-WWE Writer Details Why Goldberg Was Difficult To Work With
Goldberg returned to WWE ahead of Night of Champions and challenged Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship for Saturday Night’s Main Event.
The match is supposed to be the WWE Hall of Famer’s retirement match, but that might not be how it turns out.
If it is a retirement match, Da Man will not dethrone The Ring General, considering he cannot retire with the championship. WWE has to find a way to conclude the match without hurting anybody’s credibility.
Vince Russo only named Goldberg for superstars who were hard to work with
Hannibal and Vince Russo discussed various WWE developments, and one of them was about the superstars that Vince Russo has had a hard time working with.
Interestingly, the former head writer only named the WWE Hall of Famer and explained why the situation used to be difficult to manage.
I never really worked with anybody that was a prick. The person I probably had the hardest time ever working with bro, all three companies, was freaking Goldberg because Goldberg really believed the hype. And, it was hard to book with Goldberg because in his mind he was trying to book everything like, you know, he was really Goldberg and he was really 150-0 and it was very very very difficult. I wanted Goldberg to job to Scott Steiner once and we literally had to fly him and his agent into Atlanta so Brad Seagull could tell him. Bras Seagull, the head of the network had to tell him, ‘oh, we need you to lose this match’. So, he was very hard to work with.
A match between Gunther and Goldberg has been speculated for a while. Fans are divided on who will walk away with the victory, but many hope to see The Ring General retain the championship.
