A former WWE writer has taken issue with the current booking on Raw of former Women’s Champion Bayley and her Damage CTRL group.
Bayley returned to WWE screens after over a year out at SummerSlam and she didn’t return alone. The former Raw Women’s Champion was flanked by IYO SKY and Dakota Kai with the trio becoming known collectively as Damage CTRL.
Speaking on his Wrestling With Freddie podcast, former WWE writer Freddie Prinze Jr. explained why in his mind the group isn’t working at the moment:
“I guess WWE’s done with Bayley. She lost to Candice LeRae, she’s losing to everybody. The entire Damage CTRL situation is a tag team championship on two girls that I don’t know if they’re going to get over.”
“Whenever I see something not working. I just want to kill it. Blow it up. It’s wrestling, that’s been wrestling’s M.O. from the dawn of time. I don’t know what they’re trying to do with this.”
Dakota Kai and IYO SKY lost the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship on Raw to Alexa Bliss and Asuka but they will have a quick chance to regain those belts when the four women meet in a rematch at Crown Jewel.
