Ex-WWE World Champion Confirms Retirement & Details New Career

Old WWE World Heavyweight Championship

A former WWE World Heavyweight Champion has retired from wrestling and confirmed their new, very different, business interest.

One of Tony Khan’s early signings in AEW was Jake Hager – the former Jack Swagger in WWE – who made his surprise debut for the company on the first episode of Dynamite, where he joined Chris Jericho, Sammy Guevara, Santana, and Ortiz in the Inner Circle.

However, that proved to be the highlight of Hager’s time in AEW, and if there was any doubt about whether he was still part of the company, that was removed when he bizarrely claimed Tony Khan was a communist in a recent outburst.

But if you were a fan hoping to see Hager back in the ring again, then the star himself has some bad news as he moves on with his life.

Jake Hager Won’t Be Returning To WWE

Speaking on Tammy Time, Jake Hager confirmed that he’s now retired from the ring as he gave some insight into his next chapter:

I retired from pro wrestling this summer around the same time that they inducted me into the Hall of Fame. I’m trying to find what’s next for me. Currently, it’s a box trucking company where I’m not driving. I got drivers [working] for me and I’m learning the ropes. It’s slow but I love the phrase slow success builds character. So that’s what I’m banking on.
