Ex-WWE Star Praises Specific Aspect Of The New Day’s Breakup On Raw
A former WWE World Champion believes that a particular part of The New Day’s sad breakup on Raw made the whole thing work so well.
On WWE Monday Night Raw in Everett, The New Day was supposed to celebrate ten years as a team. After Kofi and Xavier thanked the fans for their support, the duo appeared as if they were going to announce they were parting ways.
That’s when Big E showed up to say that he didn’t like seeing Kofi & Xavier fight as much as they were. Big E suggested that he become their manager. Woods and Kingston didn’t want that and they fired back at their friend Big E, who hasn’t been able to wrestle due to a broken neck over two and a half years ago. Woods claimed that Big E would never be cleared while Kofi & Woods also told Big E to go back to his girlfriend and his desk job as a WWE announcer on pre-and-post-PLE shows.
The harsh comments from Woods & Kingston were met with massive boos by the WWE fans that have watched The New Day form a bond as brothers for the past decade. Instead, Woods & Kingston were rude to their friend Big E, who certainly didn’t deserve what they said to him.
Nic Nemeth has had a great 2024 away from WWE as the TNA World Champion. After spending nearly 20 years in WWE, Nemeth said goodbye to the Dolph Ziggler name and is thriving in TNA.
The New Day trio has a history with Nemeth because when Big E got called up to the main roster, he was put with Ziggler and AJ Lee as a bodyguard. Kofi Kingston is a guy who wrestled Nemeth many times as they feuded over various titles in the company. Xavier Woods may not have as much direct history with Nemeth, but obviously, Nemeth knows them well.
The New Day Breakup Was Handled The Right Way, According To Nic Nemeth
In addition to being the TNA World Champion and wrestling in other places, Nic Nemeth also co-hosts Busted Open Radio where he praised The New Day breakup promo.
“Desk job’s supposed to be the death blow to anyone in a physical business. Whether you’re a cop and ‘they”re like ‘Ah, you’re forced to sit at a desk to get punished.’ Or if you’re an athlete and you’ve got to sit down and talk. That’s supposed to be the biggest shame. But you know what’s was fun and what’s…real? ‘Your girlfriend.’ That’s not the main part of the story, but when he says ‘Your outside business. You’re doing some other thing. Your projects. Your girlfriend…’
“People know that that person exists in real life. And it’s not just being said. We’ve all been there too when your buddy that goes out with you every Friday all of a sudden says ‘Well I can’t come out on Friday. I got this new girlfriend…’ So just that little piece of ‘You’re too busy doing your own stuff, and now you want to come help us when…we’re ready to jump off a cliff? Now you want to come help us?’ These are realistic points that make it the most believable bad guy thing.”
While it’s unknown if he can wrestle again one day, Big E has made it clear he’s at peace with not being able to wrestle again.
