A former WWE Tag Team Champion has announced their exit from the company as part of a round of cuts that has shocked the company.

Sonya Deville was the highest-profile name in the latest round of WWE roster cuts. Deville featured in the Royal Rumble but has now been told that her contract with the company will not be renewed. The former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion is believed to just have weeks left on her current deal before she becomes a free agent.

The Authors of Pain and Paul Ellering have been released as has Blair Davenport. One name also let go has taken to social media to confirm their exit.

Cedric Alexander Confirms WWE Release

Former Raw Tag Team Champion Cedric Alexander sent out a message on social media indicating his exit and vowed to keep wrestling:

Thank you for the last 8 1/2 years! Being a professional wrestler has been a dream of mine since I could form memories and I will continue to do so till the good Lord says otherwise. #SeeYouIn90

Alexander’s allusion to a 90-day non-compete clause suggests he has been released rather than his contract being allowed to expire.

Cedric Alexander is best known in WWE for his role in The Hurt Business with MVP, Bobby Lashley, and Shelton Benjamin. Alexander and Benjamin held the Raw Tag Team Championship together. Lashley, MVP, and Benjamin have reformed as The Hurt Syndicate in AEW and that could be Alexander’s next likeliest destination.
